What is 24-hour home care?

Some needs do not keep business hours. 24-hour care means a caregiver is with your loved one day and night, working in scheduled shifts so someone attentive is always present. It is how seniors who can no longer be safely alone, even briefly, keep living at home instead of moving to a facility.

We provide care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holidays, and we offer shifts from one hour all the way to 72 hours.

When does a family need 24-hour care?

What's the difference between 24-hour care and live-in care?

With live-in care, one caregiver moves into the home and sleeps there, which means long stretches where they are off duty or asleep. We do not offer live-in care, on purpose. With our 24-hour care, caregivers work in shifts: each one arrives rested, and your loved one always has someone attentive nearby. Behind every shift is a local office and an on-call team, so there is always a person your family can reach.

What does 24-hour care include?

Everything in our care services, around the clock:

  • Personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
  • Overnight support: help to and from the bathroom, repositioning, and reassurance after dark
  • Meals, hydration, and medication reminders through the day
  • Companionship and engagement during waking hours
  • Light housekeeping and laundry along the way
  • A consistent small team of caregivers, so faces stay familiar

  • Our Texas caregivers are screened against the state Employee Misconduct Registry and Nurse Aide Registry, and complete nine hours of continuing education each year
  • Caregivers are W-2 employees, never contractors, supported by a local office team
  • Licensed by the Washington State Department of Health (IHS.FS.60603640) and by Texas Health and Human Services (024759)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is 24-hour care the same as live-in care?

No. Live-in care places one caregiver in the home who also sleeps there. Our 24-hour care uses rotating shifts so an attentive, rested caregiver is always present. We do not offer live-in care.

  • How much does 24-hour care cost?

Care is billed hourly at the rates published on each location page. For around-the-clock coverage we will walk you through the numbers at the assessment, including how long-term care insurance may help. You receive a clear bill twice a month.

  • Can 24-hour care be temporary?

Yes. Many families use it for a recovery period after a hospital stay, during a family caregiver’s absence, or through a rough stretch of an illness, then step back down to daily visits. There is no minimum commitment.

  • Do the same caregivers come every day?

We build a small, consistent team for each 24-hour client so your loved one sees familiar faces on a predictable rotation, and we introduce any new team member properly.

  • Is 24-hour care available at all your locations?

Yes. We provide 24-hour care from all four offices: Spokane, Tacoma, and Bremerton in Washington, and McKinney in Texas.
