Elderly Woman Reading Book On Sofa

Team Member of the Month: February

My name is Darlene. My favorite part of working with Generations Home Care is that the staff is always friendly–I know I can call about any problem problem or stop by the office and voice my concerns. They have always been good about returning my phone calls if they are not available when I first call. The most unusual job would be was a co-pilot for my husband when he drove truck long haul. I saw some really pretty country side.

If I had to give advice to any potential candidates, I would say this: the job can be rather difficult at times, but just smile and do the best you can to work through the situation. Always remember that they can be nervous to if they haven’t had a caregiver. They sometimes don’t understand why they need a caregiver, especially dementia clients, but do your best each day. Be respectful of their customs and religions and always ask if they mind if you do certain things, they may have a preference to how they want things done.

Most challenging thing about working with Generations would probably be using the Clear Care Caregiver App. I had some problems with it at first, but the staff worked with me until I figured it out.

I have to say I am very happy that I found Generations and started working with them!
