Elderly Woman Reading Book On Sofa

Team Member of the Month: Samantha Johnson

Since I was young, I’ve had the desire to help people in need. When my grandparents were sick, I helped take care of them, and doing that revealed my true passion: providing care. It’s good to know that I am able to make someone’s day a little better. After high school, I attended Green River Community College and started the prerequisites for a degree in nursing. Due to my financial situation, I dropped out the following quarter and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. After obtaining my certification, I started working in an assisted living facility in Puyallup at age 18. I worked there until I obtained employment with Generations Home Care in fall of 2016. I enjoy working for an in-home care company because it allows me to interact with clients and their families on a more personal level, giving me a new perspective on their life. The management is great and they treat us with dignity and respect. We are treated as team members and I know management truly cares about us. In the future, I plan on going back to school to become a Registered Nurse so I can fulfill my dreams.
